This unit is used to toast and expand a variety of products such as cereal akes and pellets. The product passes through a thermo- insulated chamber while it is hit by a flow of hot air (200°C). The transportation, which lasts 45-60 seconds, is performed by three stainless steel vibrating oors positioned at di erent heights in order to continuously mix the product. The entire toasting process is divided
into two or three stages (depending on the dimension of the machine): the rst one is characterized by higher temperature and thermal power while the second and the third have lower parameters.
Other components of the unit are:
set of independent variable speed motors for the vibrating oors;
an air heating system equipped with gas burners of suitable capacity and air/air heat exchangers;
two insulated centrifugal and high capacity electric fans, for a widespread and uniform ventilation of the product;
an exhaust air extraction section, equipped with insulated centrifugal fan complete with air extraction ducting and hand-driven shutter
for air ow setting;
an automatic temperature control and regulation device, in toasting and browning section;
an automatic dust collection and recovery group, equipped with two decantation cyclones and motorized valves for the discharge of
the collected particles and sack feed-mouths;
a set of low conductivity insulating panels, with a sandwich structure and externally covered by means of two metal shells. The panels
can be opened on the sides for easy cleaning and maintenance operation.
