The drying unit is a fundamental stage of the process, since it is here that the final quality and aesthetic features of the pellets are achieved. The FCD dryer is a high-performance and space-saving unit that combines in the same machine both the pre-drying and the drying phase. The machine is composed of a thermos-insulated chamber in which the product is conveyed by a belt onto nine floors. The pre-drying phase, which takes place in the upper part of the machine, is characterized by high temperature and short residence time in order to stabilize the pellets. In the lower floors, on the contrary, residence time is longer and temperature lower.
Main components of the FCD dryer:
- vibrating doser that uniformly distributes the product;
- set of belts with variable speed;
- automatic conditioning system;
- set of ventilating fans;
- thermo-insulated structure.
